Suing someone from another state?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Oregon

I live in Oregon, and let's just say I have an 'issue' with someone living on the east coast. I'm not really suing for money, rather, to prove who's right and who's not.

Anyway, how does that work? Obviously the person would have to be served papers in their own state. Do they ever have to actually travel here to Oregon, or me to them?

If not a monetary issue AND unless you have sufficient legal experience, you will need an attorney. Hire one in THEIR state.
