All of you get too personal. Its amazing. Do you know my parents? No. I instill values within myself. My parents have been divorced since I was 8. So maybe that's why. Your all pathetic.

Should I tell her to wait till she's out of high school before I can date her?
I have had more experience in every one of life's situations than anyone my age.
You will not make assumptions about the person I am!
You are a pederast.
I am not planning anything or have intentions you sick pervert,
Bringing slander to a legal site full of lawyers, cops, judges, and IP experts? That's pretty cheeky.
I am watching my back because I would never want to get involved with the law.
Sounds guilty to me.
Why would I come to a well respected website to ask a mature question if I just wanted to have sex with her?
Read the mature questions asked in other threads and then tell us that your question was mature.
You all live pathetic lives
Yeah, yeah, I know.
and I hope you realize sooner or later that there is more to life than living on the other end of a computer screen arguing with somone you don't know.

...if it were up to me there'd be a Federal law making the age of consent 18 or older in every state (there's no way a 16 year old has the emotional maturity to make an informed decision on sex)...
If it were up to ME, the age of consent would be 21. How many 18-year-old kids do you know who are anywhere near prepared to deal with the biggest possible outcome of sex? Most kids who are 18 in no way, shape, or form, could support themselves, much less a baby, another human life. At least the age of 21 would give a little time in the semi-adult world instead of high school, where the typical 18-year-old is a senior who feels so mature compared to the typical 14-year-old freshmen.

I am more mature than you would ever be, I wish this was a personal conversation. I've had relationships with 23 year old women when I was a senior in high school. I have had more experience in every one of life's situations than anyone my age.
Kiddo, dating someone who is 23 when you are in high school doesn't mean you're more mature. It most likely means she was extremely immature or got her rocks off on banging a high-schooler, and you felt like the big man on campus bedding an "older woman". That 6th grade boy Mary Kay Letourneau (sp?) screwed wasn't somehow so extremely mature. She was a predator, as your "girlfriend" was.

By the time I was your age, I'd spent five years battling a deadly illness, meaning no fun high-school years for me, as well as having to take care of my brother thanks to our parents being extreme alcoholics. They'd been released to my legal custody when I was just 18. Guess what. This doesn't mean I had an adult-level of maturity despite an adult-level of responsibility. It simply means I handled the crap thrown at me. At least I was mature enough at that time to realize that dealing with everything I did didn't make me truly an adult with such a high maturity level as to spit on those who were older and knew better. I'm 28 now, and guess what? I can still see that there's maturing to do. I'm not going to presume myself to be as mature as someone who's 35 or 50. Each stage of life brings with it new things to be learned that further maturity, and these things can only be learned by going through those stages. A sign of IMmaturity is an inability or unwillingness to see yourself as you truly are rather than how you wish to be perceived.

Part of being an adult is thinking through actions in more than a "can I get into legal trouble" way. What happens if this girl gets pregnant? Then what? You talk about being sooooooo mature. If you were six years ahead in the maturity department, how many years ahead is this girl to match your awe-inspiring maturity? She's have to be nine or 10 years ahead, right? For some odd reason, I highly doubt this is the case.

You are both kids. Keep it in your pants and look for someone else who is out of high school.

OP, don't bother arguing this point here. I've been called a pedophile on this board because my wife was 17 when I met her. It's rediculous, just let it go.

That being said, the rambling post where you claimed to be mature was anything but.

I'd prefer 21 as well, but didn't think there'd be any chance of getting that one passed.

Someone forgot to teach this kid about respecting his elders. But then, apparently they forgot to teach him a lot of things, and he therefore assumes (that word again) that what his hormones are telling him is maturity.

I prefer 30.I guess that makes me holyr'e than thou.I fail to see how this kid is going to learn respect for his elders by having a bunch of adults beat-up on him over a few poorly worded posts. If he were your kid wouldnt you just want to give him some good advice and a little direction? ps. hey kiddo, grown ups dont need to tell you how grown up they are.( they just bitch about things lol)
