What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA
Hello, My childs mothers attorney has sent me sanctions. I do not have an attorney. Do I respond to these sanctions in writing and turn them into the court clerk before the next court date, or do I wait til the court date and present my responses then? I also have evidence contradicting what is said in the sanctions, If I do have to present my response before the court date, do I also include the evidence or do I present that on the court date? Thank you for your help.

What do you mean "sent you sanctions?" The court orders sanctions, the attorney makes a motion for them.
Sorry about that, what I recieved from the attorney was his motion and a list of reasons that the motion be granted. Am I supposed to give my response in writing before the next court date, or wait and bring them into court with me, along with any evidence I have to dispute the allegations? I apologize for the miscommunication. Thank You.

Prepare your response, have a third party serve it and file it with the proof of service.

Note: If you're going to proceed on this case pro per, you had BETTER get familiar with all of the laws involved. This is not a question that should have to be asked when you're knee deep in a lawsuit and there's an attorney on the other side.

OK I will do that. Thank you. Just one more question, do you have any suggestions on where I can get the information to better educate myself regarding the laws? I have no choice, I need to do this myself. Thank You.

Every state law in California will be found there.
You will have to go to your local county court's website to find the local rules, which you will also need to know.
