What is the name of your state (Pennsylvania)?

My question is this: I live in PA and have a white-collar conviction for Conspiracy and am out on 5 years probation. I have been asked by a friend to coach a sport in our local recreation association. I have to complete and have my name submitted to the state for a background check. According to the form, it looks like they are only looking for crimes relating to child molestation/crimes against children.

Will my guilty plea/conviction show up on these coaching/referee background checks? I do not want to be embarassed if it shows up but I have always worked with kids and would like the opportunity to work with kid in the community. Thank you for the input.

I wouldn't want a convicted criminal acting as a role model for MY children.

With that said, perhaps you should ask the organization if it will affect your volunteer work...

It will show up. It probably would not make you ineligible since it is a non-violent white collar crime, but I would either mention it before hand or forego the position. It is nice you are volunteering though.
