What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Georgia.
I have a question about Jurisdiction. I went to court in Jackson County(X and kids lived at the time) for a change of custody case (that I won) in February 2009. The question is what county will have jurisdiction over my next trip to court. I have lived in Habersham County for 6 years and the kids have lived with me every day since the February court date and the X now lives out of state. Can I file papers to change the county of jurisdiction to Habersham or will it have to stay in the county that last heard and ruled in my case? Thanks!!!!

You can get the venue changed to your county. A state has jurisdiction, a county has venue.

How do I get the venue changed to my county? Is it something that i can do without a lawyer? Thanks!!!
Its not something that you would normally do until you need to go to court on an actual issue. Check for the necessary forms to do so at your local courthouse.
