The footnote ([25]) in the Wikipedia cite is a broken link referencing the UN's Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Just for fun, why don't you send him a link to the articles of that convention. Ask him whether he can find anything in there that specifically directs how court ordered child support monies are to be used. :D

Yes, first check in 6 years. Rich indeed!
I won't mention to dad that during his next visitation with the kids....BF (who's been supporting kids along with me for 6 years) and I are going out to diner.
I won't feel guilty one bit.
Pffft. Go away for the weekend LOL Take pics and send to him too!!!! LOL

Ex has been known to quit jobs when problems arise. This is the first time he's paid support.
I don't plan on letting him walk on me....but I'm not going to "create" issues by sending spa pictures. Although a spa treatment sounds really good right now. :D
I've honestly never been to a spa. Never had a mani/pedi. Seriously sick eh?

Not sick. But it appears that you are overdue for a spa retreat.

BTW, since your ex considers Wikipedia an appropriate reference for legal research, it's too bad he didn't read the entirety of the section from which he quoted. Because then he might have noted this little tidbit:

In California, there is [sic] no limitations, accountability, or other restriction on how the obligee spends the child support received, it is merely presumed that the money is spent on the child.
The (working!) link provided references California Family Code. More light reading for him while you have your toenails painted!

Oh HONEY! you really MUST go get at the very least a pedi.... seriously. You will feel WONDERFUL!

As far as the "request" for itemizations as to how YOUR money is spent... I'd have to agree with all of the "SUCK ROCKS!" You've already paid for your children's expenses with the money YOU earn... he is simply REIMBURSING you for a measly portion of those... too bad they don't have a wage withholding order on him!

TAKE SOME MOMMY TIME TOO! :D

Fortunately for the custodial parent, records and receipts do not need to be established to justify the spending of the Custodial Parent Support.

OT: Unfortunately the non custodial parent losses in so many more ways .....

are you MY wife, babygirl?! haha, she says the same thing! she got like 3 hours overtime last paycheck, and i asked "oh so you're going to put gas in your car right?"(cos she uses my gas card)..she threw me a look, put her fingers in my face and said "DO YOU see how grown OUT my nails are! hell no, i'm getting my nails filled, and i'm changing the color of my toenails!"...my wife actually counts that $40/mo into our budget ;)

op, whereas wiki has great answers, your ex should learn to "turn the page" of the book, so to speak...only idiots read the 1st paragraph, and think it's a good book without at least SCANNING OVER the other 300 pages

Any smart girl does. Nails every 2 weeks ($15) and brows once a month ($8) and tans 2-3 times/week ($100/year). Gave up smoking and decided that spoiling myself was healthier.
