Im an 18 year old dating a 15 year old. Im curious if this is illegal if we aren't having sex? My mother won't allow me to speak to or hang out with her because she doesn't want me going to jail. She turns 16 in March and the age of consent is 16. Should i listen to my parents and wait 6 months or is it ok to see her?

First of all, it doesn't matter a damn when the age of consent is. What matters is when the age of majority is. The age of majority is 18, not 16.

Technically, since you are over 18, you are not bound by what your parents say, UNLESS you are still living under their roof and being supported by them. If that is the case, then it's their house, their rules. If you do not wish to follow their rules, you are free to move out and pay your own rent, food, utilities, medical insurance, tuition, etc.

However, what is of supreme importance here is what the 15 year old's parents say. If they say that you are allowed to date their daughter, you may. If they say you may not, then you may not. This remains true until her 18th birthday, not her 16th; it remains true regardless of whether you are having sex or not; and if at any time prior to her 18th birthday her parents decide to withdraw permission, them permission is withdrawn and the fact of prior permission means nothing whatsoever.

In other words, when it comes to the 15 year old, her parents are God.

I was hoping the girl's dad would show up with Sammy Shotgun and aim right for the predator's glutious maximus. And not miss.

I suspect his parents have a good idea of an 18 year old's raging and uncontrollable hormones. At least they're counseling him against the relationship.
