Reimbursement of medical expenses

What is the name of your state - Washington

My court order states that ex-husband shall pay/reimburse me for 58.33% of extraordinary health care expenses.

I am sending a letter and reciept to Dad for reimbursement, however, our court order doesn't specify how long he has to reimburse me for these expenses.

What would be a recommended time frame to request him to reimburse medical expenses??

Have you sent him a copy of the doctor's bill so he can see what the receipt is for? When was the treatment? how long did it take you to pay it? How much is the bill? How much of the bill did insurance pay?

I am just getting ready to send him a copy of the bill and reciept

Treatment was two weeks ago

I paid it at the doctors office, same day as son's visit

Ex-husband dropped insurance on children so I am paying up front for doctors visits and prescriptions

Was he COURT ORDERED TO PROVIDE insurance? If so why did he drop insurance?

Send him the bill and receipt and give him a reasonable amount of time. If he hasn't paid you by November 1st, tell him you will take him to court to enforce and then do it. However the answers above may cause me to change my mind.

And to answer your question, yes he was court ordered to provide health insurance. He did provide it for a couple months but after he switched jobs he did not put them on the new insurance plan. I would put them on my health insurance but the cost is way too high and I cannot afford it. Because of this I have been paying out of pocket for our children's medical expenses.

Take him to court on a motion to show cause as to why he should not be held in contempt. He may have a defense to not insuring them due to lack of reasonable cost HOWEVER file in court for him to pay ALL of the out of pocket due to not insuring them.
