Colorado. My girlfriend and I got in a fight a few weeks ago. A witness called in a domestic violence call and my girlfriend was arrested and spent 3 nights in jail because she slapped me. I didnt want any of this to happen nor do I feel it necessary for her to undergo 2 years of probation and 36 weeks of counseling. I as the victim would like to see the case dismissed as well as she would. In getting this to happen do you think it's smarter to hire an attorney for me in defense or her? There has been no plea by her but I would like to have the case dropped all together. Please let me know how I may go about this in the most successful way possible.

the state may feel it's necessary to put her on probabtion for her violent behavior.

look, you can be supportive of her, help her deal with her obvious anger issues. she absolutely SHOULD go to counseling. YOU might benefit from counseling of your own. maybe a support group. you need to understand something, just because you didn't end up dead, or in a hospital, doesn't mean you weren't abused. male or female. you should NOT be tolerating that behavior.

can you two still work it out, absolutely. but you need to let her know you won't tolerate that behavior. and move from there.
