What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York
Hello my name is Amanda, at the age of 13 I was forced to place criminal charges on my good friend because my aunt uncle believe that I had sexual relations with him. At the time he was 19 and was convicted of statutory rape now that I am 18 years old I would really like to drop the charges. H e had to registar as a sex offender and I never wanted this to happen but I was told it was the right thing to do. I was wonder if you can help me by telling me how I should go about to try and drop the charges made against him.
Thank YouWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

You need to speak with an attorney.

sorry hun. you have no authority to drop the charges. only the DA does. you provided testimony. that was all that was needed as the victim.
