Adultery is one of the grounds for divorce in VA:

Proof is the same as any other legal matter. You have to have real evidence. Not suspicions, not hearsay, not simply showing that they've talked on the phone. It's the same as anything else. Either a document admitting adultery - which you can prove is from him, witnesses, photographs, whatever.
