What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA

My expungement was filed by the Clerk of Courts in PA on July 28, 2009. I have not yet received back the certified copies from all agencies/departments. I'm curious as to the timeframd others have had when filing for an expungement. I know it's a lengthy process and have heard up to a year.

My attorney I was working with just recently left the law firm and I haven't been happy about the communication I'm receiving from my new one so thought I'd check with some of you. My new attorney actually told me that I may not get certified copies back from all agencies and I don't believe this because how else would you be certain the expungement was completed? Thanks in advance.

ARD expungement timeframe

Did you receive confirmation back from all agencies? My attorney is saying that I may not receive acknowledgements back because it would leave a paper trail. I have a hard time believing this. How am I suppose to know that it has been executed then?

Thanks again.

You'll get a signed copy of the order from the judge along with an affidavit staying that it's been done. PA law requires all agencies to comply with the order once handed down by the judge.

you dont get any papers back saying the Charge was been dismissed and expunged. The only real way to know is to run a criminal back ground check on your self you could also higher a Private investagor and have them do it.

Now I'm kind of confused. So my attorney was correct when saying they don't want to leave paper trail? What about the affadavits saying it's been completed? Does it depend on the county? If so, mine was Montgomery county.

thats the whole point of the expungement. no paper trail... well not the whole point but you don't want a paper trail. I have no idea what happedns to the order to destroy. I would guess they get distroyed as well?

like a said best bet is to do a criminal background search on your own about 9 months after your probation is over.. I don't know what a background check costs but it can not be that much and put your mind at rest

what you are really intereste in is the Criminal bacground check that would be done via the NCIC by a future employer

You may also google "Pennsylvania Docket Search" and search by participant name. After that, you may also google "Pennsylvania District Justice Docket Search" and also do a participant name search. See what shows up... my name does not, telling me that my record has been expunged.
