What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Idaho

In the divorce it was decided that a credit card bill in my name be paid by my ex husband in exchange for a cash out to split assets. The credit card has not been paid as discovered in a recent credit report. When I called about it I was told that I am going to be sued after Nov. 29 if I do not pay it. Of course they do not care that my ex is suppose to pay it. I have not been receiving child support as he is working under the table. I am now a single mom with three sons and many expenses and do not have the money to take him back to court to fulfill his obligations. We are not on speaking terms as he blames me that he had to have an extra marital affair and does not communicate with his sons because they do not like the woman he married. Do I have any options that are not going to cost me more than the two thousand dollar credit card bill? I do not even have that much. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The credit card company is not a party to the divorce and has every right to come after you for payment.

You can address the non-payment of the credit card by hauling your hubby back into court for contempt.

Thank you very much for your response. I guess since I do not have the money to haul him back to court for contempt, or have the money to pay it, I just have to let it ruin the little bit of credit I've got. Thanks again.

That's not a very smart approach. Instead of playing martyr - handle it.
