I will agree that the truck that hit OP did not have control of the lane and OP did. However, OP's moving left to turn right could easily be considered a contributing factor, as it was misleading to other drivers.

Your suggestion was why I asked about the turn signals and just how far left the OP got. Regardless of what the second driver thought though, until the lane was clear, he had no legal right to be adjacent to the OP's truck. I know very well what happened as truck drivers do tend to tailgate and they tend to act on their prediction of another drivers actions. All that means to me though is the second driver screwed up and jumped the gun in guessing what the OP was going to do. Still makes the second driver at fault.
