Company in the U.K. won't ship my item that I ordered online. What can I do?

Hi, I'm in the United States and found this website Anita Online Store. - Home that sold Apple iPhones. I ordered one. They require payment by Western Union. So I sent the payment. Four days later I get an email from them stating that their minimum order is 10 and they won't ship my 1 item to me and won't return my money. What can I do to get them to either send me my item or my money back. By the way, no where on their website mentions anything about a minimum order requirement. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

I wouldn't get your hopes up of ever getting your money back. Any overseas website that only accepts Western Union is almost always a scam.

At least you only paid for one iPhone and didn't empty your 401(k).

The person who collected that payment could be anywhere in the world. Just because they say they are from the UK doesn't mean they are. Learn your lesson and let it go.

edit:In my experience at least, ANY overseas online transaction involving Western Union is a scam.

Oh, oh!!! SCAM ALERT!!

They require payment by Western Union. So I sent the payment.
Oh, OH!! SCAM ALARM AT FULL PITCH!!!

Sorry, but the chances are VERY high that you are SOL and have been given a 'life lesson' education. Do not pay for ANYTHING via Western Union.

Their website shows them to be in the UK.... however the following is from their website registration, showing that they are in Canada!!!
Registrant Name: Dave Duprey
Registrant Organization:Anita Online Store
Registrant Street1:2 Toronto St
Registrant City:Toronto
Registrant State/Province:ON
Registrant Postal Code:M9C2Y2
Registrant Country:CA
Registrant Phone:+1.6048050655

The phone number above links to:
Xeropolis Networks

Get hold of Western Union and get a copy of where/who accepted the money, then see if there local police will accept a criminal complaint.

JETX is right. NEVER pay for things with WU. WU even warns you about this. WU is for sending your brother money to get his car fixed, it's not for dealing with people you don't know. Once you send them the transaction details, it can be picked up just about anywhere in the world. There's no guarantee they are in the UK or even Canada.

Never buy phones other than through at least quasinormal channels. Used phones will often either be reported stolen with the carrier or associated with delinquent accounts. New phones (especially iPhones purchased abroad) will be subsidy locked to the wrong carrier. You won't be able to get it turned on.
