What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New Jersey Anonymous This is bull - from an anonymous person who is completely in awe of the way parking tickets can be dug out on people - This parking ticket I have is a parking in Handicapped from 2002 in Passaic New Jersey. The ticket was issued after 10pm at night. I remember being completely new to this town and asking my friends who lived there if my car would be okay there. They said yes. So I went ahead and parked there. This is 7 years later and I am thinking I can use this as a defense - It was dark - the painting was faded - there was no sign - nor handicapped logo depicting that this was a real handicapped spot. A lot of times back in that year I was not able to decide for all the complex and very confusing rules on the streets - It wasn't clear. Furthermore , the town had a little less money than other towns , I guess to invest in proper signage. Well, over the last decade they improved their conditiona bit - These signs are looking a lot better in 2009 & not only that but they have their own busstop at Willowbrook mall and it is for Jury duty. Not to bring this up against them, but Other counties shop at that mall & I was jealous because they are all rich now because I have paid one parking ticket (very Expensive) with them before & I was also not guilty. It stinks how much money they are raking in on their parking tickets - has anyone else ever had lack of help fighting a parking ticket - lawyers , attorneys , future judges please post

so, can you prove any of your claims about; no sign, faded paint, etc?

If not, you cannot win. It will be assumed the paint was not faded and there was an appropriate sign, etc.

Yes, life is tough on the streets. And confusing.

So I take it you don't have this problem any more?

So you didn't pay a parking ticket now it's come back to bite you in the butt.

This parking ticket I have is a parking in Handicapped from 2002 in Passaic New Jersey.
Sorry you had to be there at that time.

The ticket was issued after 10pm at night.
Parking laws are in effect 24 hours unless signage says otherwise.

I remember being completely new to this town and asking my friends who lived there if my car would be okay there. They said yes.
So your friends have the legal authority to tell you it's okay to break the law? Not.

So I went ahead and parked there. This is 7 years later and I am thinking I can use this as a defense - It was dark - the painting was faded - there was no sign - nor handicapped logo depicting that this was a real handicapped spot.
No you can't. The time to challenge the citation has long since expired. When you failed to comply with the requirements of challenging the ticket, you were found guilty. You can't even appeal at this late date.

A lot of times back in that year I was not able to decide for all the complex and very confusing rules on the streets - It wasn't clear.
Then you shouldn't have been driving.

So you are saying the county became rich because you paid a parking ticket? Glad I don't live back there. Last parking ticket I got cost me $7.

It stinks how much money they are raking in on their parking tickets
Fines are designed to be a deterrent to breaking the law, if no one broke the law no one would get fined. Think of it as a voluntary tax for having a moment of stupidity.

has anyone else ever had lack of help fighting a parking ticket - lawyers , attorneys , future judges please post
I'm not an attorney but I play one of TV. Is that close enough? As stated above, you have waited way too long to fight or appeal the ticket, your only option is to pay it or face the possible consequenses such as possible having your license suspended.
