I don't think being tricked into sleeping with a minor makes you a child molestor. That's like putting marijuana in someone's brownies without their knowledge and then calling them a drug addict.
Or, it's like a child not being entirely truthful to the FULL GROWN MAN who is repeatedly raping her because he's hot for that little piece of tail, so why bother getting to know her...

Again, by DEFINITION and per the LAW - AND per your own admission...you are a child molester.

No. It's not. At. All.

Next time, after you get out of prison that is, actually KNOW someone long enough to confirm their age. Okay??

Your right, I'm guilty for not getting to know her. I saw the girl a hand full of times over a three month period. But that's your opinion if I'm a child molestor for having sex with someone I didn't fully know.

You are a child molester (ie: child rapist) for having sex with a 15 year old girl.

You are an idiot because you can't get it through your thick skull.

No. You are a molester because you had sex with a 15 year old child.

So it makes me a child molestor because I had sex with someone who said they were of age, and I didn't take the time to get to know them. Sorry I wasn't looking for a wife. You guys seem to have had your mind made up before you read my post. I never said I was totally innocent. I just don't think I deserve the wrap that I'm being given. A police officer has even said he seen some girls that are between 13 to 15 that look a lot older. I might be guilty for being stupid, but not for rape or child molestation.

Look, I think that "child molester" carries a certain connotation which I agree doesn't seem to apply here.

But legally you are guilty of rape since a 15 year old is unable to give consent. Whether you like it or not you have no legal justification for your actions. Not knowing is not a valid legal defense. The fact that some 15 year old girls (like this one) look and act older is not going to alter the basic facts.

I still remember dealing with this type of situation in law class in the police academy. It seemed unfair to alot of the recruits in the class, but that's the law.

Sounds like you have quite a mess on your hands.

Really?

In every single jurisdiction in this country, you are a child molester by law and by thought.

Didn't you wonder when you had to help her with her book report on Huck Finn?

I usually agree with your usually good advice.

Here, you are wrong.

In any jurisdiction that I know of.

If the laws seem unfair, write your congressman. In the meantime, this is a site for legal advice.

Debating what is REALLY child molestation may be interesting, but it is not germane to the conversation.
