What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Maryland

Hi all,

My wife and I have been in the process of trying to purchase a short sale home since summertime. We had an offer accepted by the sellers along with paperwork signed by us and the sellers, then it went to their bank for approval. The bank did not approve it but gave feedback on an acceptable price, so we adjusted the few pages of the offer with the new price, signed and sent over the updated forms, but the sellers are refusing to sign.

Are we out the cost of the home inspections/appraisals/etc., or is there any recourse? If so, is something like losing out on the tax credit something they could be liable for?

Thanks!

P

Out... and no recourse. Simply, absent a provision in the contract for reimbursement, you expended money on the RISK of your purchase.

Nope.
