What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TX
Is the mom required to send all the diapers, wipes, baby formula, bottles, cereal, baby food etc. with the baby when visiting the dad for the weekend under Standard Possession Order? Dad says since he pays child support he shouldn't have to buy anything else when baby is visiting. Can this be true? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

I do seem to remember someone posting TX statute that states that the custodial parent is responsible for providing clothing, medication, etc... but it wouldn't include FOOD for the child.

Although, I think that MORALLY if Mom is on WIC or food stamps, she should provide the necessary cereal/formula/etc that the GOVERNMENT is providing for the CHILD regardless of who physically has possession of the child.

No.

There is no legal requirement or presumption in a Texas Standard Possession Order or Child Support Order the custodial parent should accomodate the other parent with such 'disposables' during visitations.

A responsible father would pony up and have all these things on hand for when his child visits.

Heck...my dad and stepmom kept those things on hand for when they babysat the small ones, or when we visited!

May I please ask a potentially really stupid question?

Is the need to be right or accurately compensated for every last dime really more important than making sure kiddo has whatever kiddo needs?

It seems that very often, yes, it's more important to be RIGHT (especially if you know the LAW is on your side) than it is to do the right thing. At least, in the smallish little section of the world that inhabits this site.

I always wanted to send those things so I knew my son was getting the same formula etc. Sure it would be great if dad wanted to provide those things, but is it really a big enough deal to start up an arguement this early in the baby's life? I'll be honest, I used to argue with dad over these simple stupid things, too, but now looking back, I see I was only hurting my son and not so much dad. Please learn to let the little things go.
