What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
Alabama

I have noticed that when I get child support checks they sometimes are not for the full amount that I am supposed to be getting. They will say: "this warrant includes payments on interest obligations."
Funny thing is, about a week or so later I will get a check for the difference.
Why is this? What is this about? I never thought I had to pay interest as a child support recipient.

Are your payments going through DHR? They do all sorts of screwy things in Montgomery and you can never get through their labyrinth phone system to a real person.... Have you called your DHR rep and asked her/him? That'd be my suggestion; when they do weird things to mine, I just wait a week or so and they fix the screw-up.

no, I haven't, due to the fact that a real person is non-existent. Calling the rep doesn't help either because they do not call back. It is just rediculous.
Like you, I just wait until they send the remainder a week or so later. I just wondered why they do this.

Bureaucratic incompetence. :p
