What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Arizona State
My friends ex-girlfriend told him Friday Evening that she is moving to New Mexico and is leaving on Tuesday.
They currently have no child custody agreement.
He has signed the paternity papers.
States she is moving because she doesn't want to live alone and that the
doctor told her that thier 3 month old son is probably allergic to her parents dogs - therefore she can't live with her parents.
So she is going to move to New Mexico to live with her grandparents and someone in her family there is giving her a job.
Because there is no current custody agreement what can he do to establish joint custody/visitation. Understanding is that unwed fathers in the state of AZ have no rights unless they file with the court. But the court can take 90 days to respond, meanwhile she is dust in the wind and living in a new state.
What should he do?
