What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida

work for a family place in Florida. I have a question:

Just because of the holidays (and because this people do not want to work) they cut off the "payroll week" one day before the regular payroll schedule. meaning that instead of getting pay for 10 days ( we get pay every two weeks) we will get pay only for 9.... actually only for 8 and 1/2 since we were off on the 25th with no paid Holidays. Some workers put on a lot of hours since it was required to stay untill late hours prior Christmas and therefore they have a lot of extra hours.... Since this people are cutting the payroll week a day earlier so they can send the payroll earlier they will be eliminating a lot off extra hours. They havent comunnicate this to the employees (its just word of mouth going around) is this legal? to cut off the payroll earlier just because... and people have to wait another 15 days to get pay and if they count the extra hours as extra hours we will be lucky.... I would like to know opinions...

Thanks!

Tell you what - why don't you ignore the rumors and come back when you have a question about something that's actually happening...

The POINT of my post was that you are worried about a RUMOR. Ignore the rumor and do your job. When (IF) the situation comes up, THEN address it. Before that, enjoy your holiday.

YEESH!

Heck, why don't I just jump on the band wagon so he can call me a looser(sic) too. I'd hate my friend Zigner to be the only one:D

The baby wants us to cry him a river because his employer is closed for Xmas. To the OP: suck it up; a business can close at its discretion and you are NOT entitled to be for any hours you do not work.

IF they end the pay week a day earlier, they will NOT be eliminating any extra hours, only putting them off until the next pay period. No one is going to lose any money that they earned.
