Go to the family court in your district and ask them there.

Since Temp custody needs to be ordered by that court, you will need to go there anyway.

Who are you and why do you want temp custody, and how did you intend on getting it with a "form" ???????

That sounds so patronizing. I didnt intend to get it with a "form". But I do need to "file the form."
Thank you

Many states don't HAVE forms for every specific filing. If IN offers forms at all, you may need to alter a form that's "close enough" and use that.

It IS rather important though, to know who you are, the reasons for the temp custody, etc.

My daughter's mother has been arrested and is in jail. She is facing atleast 6 years in prison. I have my daughter with me now, but I dont have custody. I have ZERO money for a lawyer, so I have to do this myself. The maternal grandmother has filed for emergency temp. custody. She waited a month to do it for some reason. Anyway....I'm doing this myself. I went to the family court and they gave me a website to go to (IN.gov). It has every form possible, but not the one I need. I've have looked and called EVERYWHERE.

How old is your daughter and has she been living with grandma at all? If so, for how long?

ok, so your child's mother, who had custody, has been arrested and is going to be jailed, maybe 6 years.

Since the arrest 1 month ago your child has lived with you.

grandparents have filed for custody and you have been served to appear.

correct? ok here are some more questions....

1- who left the child with you.

2- have you been to court ever to establish paternity?

She is 18 months old. My daughter lived with her mother in the grandmother's home. The grandmother was never around. She didnt have much to do with my daughter until the mother went to jail. Now she wants custody. We all lived together in the same house until 6 months ago when the mother and I split up. I have seen my daughter on an average of 4 days a week ever since. I had a child support hearing last week and was ordered to pay nother since I have her. I have had her now for 2 months.

In addition to the other questions, why don't you just want to file for CUSTODY of your child? Not temporary custody but CUSTODY?

I agree with OG, you need to file for custody.

You might have mentioned in that hearing that since mom was in jail, you need to be awarded custody.

I wish you could be more organized with your thoughts, what do you mean
""6 months ago when the mother and I split up. I have seen my daughter on an average of 4 days a week ever since.""

Is that up until 2 months ago when child came to live with you, when mom went to jail?

You should calm down and let us help you.

Try to just answer the questions.

I was advised to file for temp custody for the time being until I can retain a lawyer. When the mother was arrested, the grandmother came to my house to pick up my daughters play pen. I didnt know at the time that she had been arrested. I asked her why she needed it and she said that my daughter was going to the maternal great grandparents house for a while. I wanted to know why but she wouldnt tell me. To make a long story short, she lied/mislead me about the situation of my ex. When I found out, I went and picked up my daughter and have had her ever since. I have established paternity in my child support hearing last week.

I have called several attorney's in my area. No one will work with me on payments without a huge chunk down that I just do NOT have. Every penny I make goes to the care and support of my child.

Im very calm actually. Yes, from the time I moved out of her home, until the mother was arrested, I have seen her on average 4 days a week.
