What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Wisconsin

Father just gave me a print out from Walgreen's website of what was "supposedly" paid for medical co-pays for the past 3.5 years. When I had bills for him I always gave them to him within 30 days of receipt. Now he comes to me and gives me 3.5 years worth at once which amounts to about $1000 I owe. Can he wait this long to do this? Also I know for a fact that 3 of the co-pays it says were paid, I picked up the presciptions and didn't pay anything for them so I can discredit the print out and ask that I only see receipts or canceled checks for the presctiptions since I have already found discrepencies in some of them?

Thanks in advance for your help?

Does your court order have any provision in it regarding time limits for producing receipts?

Is the print out he gave you a log of what he has personally paid, or is it just a list of co-pays for different drugs that applies to all customers?

No unfortunately there is no time limit specified so I guess when we go to court next I will just need to have it specified for the future.

The print out is not a log he typed up or hand wrote nor is it a general copay list of the drug. I have sort of copied and pasted what it says:

Medication - ADVAIR DISKUS 250/50MCG (YELLOW) Date of Service - 12/08/2009 Price - $50.00 Note - Your insurance saved you $213.99

So where it says price is supposedly what the price was for you. But as I said previously, I know for a fact that 3 of the ones that are listed on this sheet I picked up and paid nothing for them, but says a price for them when it should say $0.00 because I paid nothing. That's why I am curious, would I be able to fight the print out he gave me since I have found discrepencies or do you think the judge will say tough? I think he should have to show me either a receipt or canceled check as he did for doctor visit co-pays, don't you?

Generally, even if an order does not specify a time frame, "reasonableness" comes into play.

Pay what you KNOW you owe, tell Dad that the remainder is disputed and he'll need to provide actual proof of payment in order for you to reimburse.

If he decided to press the point in court, he'd be expected to explain why he waited so long to seek reimbursement.

Thanks for your help.

I know for a fact he did not call in the payment because once incedence was when our son had swine flu. I had him, his dad was up north, no cell service, hadn't checked his email and couldn't check his voicemail about me telling him he had swine flu and didn't call until two days later when he heard his voicemail finally.

Quick question.....

How credible is the print out from Walgreen's website? I mean shouldn't a parent have to show a physical receipt for paid prescriptions as what is done for doctor visits/doctor co-pays?

Well...I can tell you that its considered to be evidence for tax purposes, for medical deductions.

Therefore odds are that it would be evidence in a family law court as well.
