What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California is my state. I have a custody mediation and court hearing date set for next month for divorce. My wife is asking for child support, alimony and child custody. My lawyer has sent me paperwork to fill out and is asking me to write up a schedule which is best for me and the kids. My wife does not work and I work full time 40 hrs./week. I work 10 hr. days 4/10 a week. One week I get Sun. Mon. off the next week I get Sat. Sun. Mon. Tues. off. I have twin girls both 12 yrs. old. I also get 12 holidays off a year. I need some help scheduling that would benefit me so that I do not have to pay her so much but work aroung my schedule also. Is there a web site that helps people out with this or some advice, thanks ?What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Your post is not going to go over well. You should not just want additional visitation to get out of paying child support.

You can go to this site to determine the likely child support amount you will be paying:

Calculate Child Support

Also, the visitation schedule is NOT about you; it is about the children and how it benefits them.

So, you are only interested in spending time with your children if it saves you money?..because that is how your post comes across.

Based on your work schedule, as long as you are living in the same area and can get the children back and forth to school without any problem, you could possibly get Friday evening (or Saturday morning depending on how late you work) to Tuesday evening (possibly to Wednesday morning depending on how early you have to leave for work) every other week. You may also be able to get Sunday evening to Monday evening on the off weeks. Its unlikely that you would get Sunday during the day on the off weeks because that would not allow mom any full weekends with the children, and that isn't fair to the children.

You can expect to rotate holidays. You won't get more than half of the children's holidays.

From personal experience, I highly recommend that you make sure you are specific about most everything in the plan you are presenting. The following form is from a site for my state, but it will show you some things you might want to consider including in your own plan.

Form to Establish a Visitation Schedule - Divorce & Family Law Center

I have been a reader at this forum for many years (though only a recent poster), and you will see a lot of the things mentioned on the form brought up here. In my opinion, it is better to take precautions to eliminate any such problems arising.
