What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? AR

We were issued a cost replacement check for our structure and were told our
claim was complete. The check is in our bank. We are waiting for the promised advance on our contents replacement. We were assured the investigation was finalized and the cause of the fire was just what the fire chief's report said it was; the compost bin. That was a week ago.

Last night we rece'd a call from our Ins. Co. asking to record a sworn statement of facts and
I just want to ask you a few questions....then the creepy statement following
"What "really" happened?' At the onset of our claim we submitted a sworn statement of loss; had it notorized and faxed to our Ins. co. They rece'd it and accepted it. Like I said, we've already been paid for the structure and have been promised an advance on our contents so what in the sam hill is this about? I told the individual what we had been paid and what we had been told and he said "we found something...the investigation has been reopened and again; what "really" happened?" He "No; I would not give my permission to record anything I had to say and if they had any further questions they needed to put it in writing and we would answer same.

Why don't you just pull out your copy of your prior statement and read it to them?

If this was a shop fire, why did you post in the homeowners section? Is this claim under a homeowners or commercial policy?

If you refuse to cooperate with your insurance company, you can expect ZERO further dollars. Not to mention the dozens of red flags you will be setting off to them.
