What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois

I have not received a W2 from a company that I have worked for, yet. When I called to ask about it, they said they were mailed on Feb 2.

They also said I need to wait until the end of the month to see if it gets delivered before they will send a duplicate.

How long do I legally have to wait? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

The person you spoke to is correct. If you have not received the W2 by the end of February contact the employer again and ask them to mail it (give them the address again).

Sounds like they mailed it late, but if you haven't received it by the 16th (NOT the 28th) you can ask for a duplicate or file a complaint with the IRS. Normally it's the 15th but it's a holiday. Unless I'm mistaken and the 1st was a holiday too, then the 1st was the last day that they were SUPPOSED to have to mail it.

You're right about the date Em. I should have double checked. My apologies to the OP
