What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? vt...just how do the workers compensation laws protect workers if the employer is still allowed by law to fire an employee if they no longer can do their job? From what I read these laws were put in place so the employer was protected from being sued and the employee was paid a compensation so they would not sue the employer, but would still be compensated for the injury. How can an employee possibly win a no win situation? You can't sue for injury and you can be fired for any reason the employer wants to come up with. AND the employee has to "prove" they were fired due to filing a workers comp. So, how does this law actually protect an injured employee? tx
