What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ca
A few years ago I got a DUI in Wisconsin,at the time I held 2 license's,1 Wisconsin and 1 Iowa.I since relocated to California, never going to court in Wisconsin to answer the charge(it is still pending).I had gone to DMV here in Cali to turn in my Iowa license for a Cali 1.I was told that Wisconsin had placed a restriction on my Wisconsin license, which was confiscated at the time of arrest. So I had to clear up the Wisconsin case, before I could get a Cali license. My question is ,since my Iowa license was not affected,it is totally clear. Why is DMV giving me a run around about a license I don't even have anymore?I cannot go back to Wisconsin to clear that up,is completely out of the question for other reasons.

Because the laws are now set up to avoid people like you who duck responsibility for things by moving from state to state. You'll find it darn hard these days to hold multiple licenses (and it's impossible for CDLs). No matter how many VALID licenses you have, one revoked/suspended one is going to bar you from getting a license in most states.

You're going to have to resolve this is Wisconsin. I'd start by calling a lawyer in the county you were arrested in and ask what he can do to grease the works, but a personal appearance may still be required.

you had best put it back into the question.

The restriction will never go away. Eventually (if not already) your Iowa license will also be suspended.

You will find out the next time you are pulled over. You really don't want to face the penalty for driving in CA without a valid license.
