What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NH

OK, for those of you that search posts you'll clearly see I am out of work and have debit issue - absolutely.

I am pending a return call from a lawyer, however I'm interested in info on bankruptcy. Basically I need to know if I can keep my house and car - that's it. I don't own or have anything else of value to sell or leverage.

I need a chance to regroup - I'm thinking Chapter 13? Although a clean start would be best that way some old old debts are gone for good. I have been fighting debts for 7+ years now and it's time for professional help!

Thanks

You file the chapter of bk that you qualify for. Don't file a 13 if you qualify for a Chapter 7 unless, you have assets you wish to keep that are beyond your states exemptions. I'd also point out that, you must have a reliable source of income to file a Chapter 13 and get the plan confirmed.
Here are NH's exemptions.
