I live in New Mexico. My son was assaulted on the school bus by the bus driver. Apparently he targeted my son on several occasions, threatening to duct tape him is he didn't behave. 2 weeks ago the bus driver stopped the bus and approached my son, who was being a 12 y/o on the bus, and told him to settle down. My son did and when the bus driver was walking away he found a toy on a seat and threw it at my sons face, hitting him with it.
I confronted the bus driver and he admitted doing it. I then reported the incident to his supervisor who also confronted the bus driver, who again admitted that he had thrown something at him. The video on the bus mysteriously did not record. The bus driver then falsified a disciplinary report he filed against my son. He dated the report a day before he actually filed it making it look like he filed the report before I confronted him and his boss. He also put things on the report that were not true making it look like my son was a bad guy.
This report was given to the supervisor of the transportation as well as the principal of the school.
How should I proceed with this? I want something to be done because this act was wrong even if my child was misbehaving.
side note: There was a separate incident earlier in the year where the video would have shown fault. It to also mysteriously disappeared.
