What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Last month I had deffered my car payment because of some funeral expenses. I initially requested 2 months but was told that current policies won't allow 2 months and that I'd have to call back the next month to request again. So I called back and was told I would not be able to request a deferrment and should have requested 2 months on my initial request. I explained I did and then was told I'd have to be 30 days past due in order to get approved for a 2 month deferrment. My loan is with Citifinancial Auto.

My question is I'm definitly don't have the money to make my April payment which is due tomorrow (4/27/10). I can start making my payments again in May but won't have the extra income to make up for the missed payment, assuming I'm going to be hit with late fee as well as the missed payment amount. When will the bank come after me aggresively or possibly even repo my car? Do I have options other than a payday loan which I can't do.

This really sucks because I just improved my credit with no missed payments for several years, and now this.

Of course, no one can guess what actions someone else will take, but in theory, they could issue a repo order the day after you breach (miss your promised payment).

Borrow the money from a friend or relative.

Why don't you borrow the money and then sell the car?

I would love to sell the car, however because i'm upside down on my loan most dealers won't work with me, even some of the local privately owned dealers.
