My insurance company wants to deny a $20,000 claim because we cannot provide them with proof of repairs from a previous claim. On the previous claim, we had to remove and replace a small area of carpeting. We did the work ourselves. The carpeting was left over from the previous owner. We do not have receipts for labor or materials, however, the work was done. We feel that our labor is worth something, and not only that of a contractor. Now they do not want to proceed with the current claim in which the carpeting is just a small fraction of the total claim. Both claims in questions are not related, nor was either claims any fault of mine.
