Thanks for your advice  But do remember even with best protection, things do happen. Banks get robbed, flights get hijacked with best securities in place.
sounds like you need to just stay home, pull the curtains and lock the doors and windows. You seem to have an excuse for everything and for some reason, it never involves your failure to act properly given the situation.

fine, if you want to use such an excuse,
Not an excuse ... just google and you will know such things happen everyday.

I put all of the blame on you for failing to do your due diligence and paying closer attention to a bag that held cash.
Sure . Most crime victims can be be blamed for lack of due dilligence.

It was your action and lack of taking the situation into consideration that cause the problem you now have.
Sure. All my fault. No fault of that damn thief.

And particularly this --
"Now you go to put your rucksack on your back, but in order to do so, you must set down your day pack. You set the day bag down beside the rucksack and hoist the rucksack up across one shoulder. When you turn back again, your day pack is gone! The airport is full of people but you see no one with your bag, no one running, and no one very near you"
...which is why I place the strap around a leg and place my legs on both sides of the bag...
Either that, or I position myself next to a wall with the bag between my leg and the wall.

It's really not THAT hard to keep track of the important things.

Sure that is safe ? A burglar can still ransack the house.

You seem to have an excuse for everything and for some reason, it never involves your failure to act properly given the situation.

How should have I acted ? You probably have never been a victim of crime. Good for you . But everyday thousands of people are victim of such petty crimes.
As I said, you need to come out of your cocoon and learn about rest of the world.

I have wasted enough time trying to educate you on how crime happen. But anyway, my insurance have just sent me a claim form to list the valuables. I will update you when I get the money from insurance.

if it is so horrible and likely (as you have suggested several times), your failure to act appropriately does then make it your fault. Would you jump into an area of water known to be infested with sharks and attacks from them and blame the sharks for biting you? Sure the did the actual biting but a smart person would have avoided jumping into the water or would have properly protected themselves. That is where it becomes your fault.

You apparently were aware of the conditions yet you carried cash. Your fault. You carried a purse that you are aware is a target yet you still carried a purse; your fault

so, don't carry a purse. don't carry cash. if you carry a purse, carry one that has a reinforced strap that cannot be easily cut. If you must carry cash, carry it on your person. They make money belts, money underwear, wallets that strap onto your leg, Hell, follow the methods of the drug mules and stick it up your butt if it is so likely your will have something stolen from you.

When a person walks in front of a car and gets hit, it's really hard to blame the driver, even if he was drunk.

I did not come to the forum to have a lecture on "how I should have secured it". Thieves make a day because of momentary lapse of their victim's attention.

Oh, I guess that guy sticking that shotgun in my face doesn't count (yes, very serious about that)

No, you need to learn how to act properly given the situation and take appropraite action to protect yourself.

I wonder if you ever buy insurance ... any type. I mean a person as careful as you will never need an insurance . Good for you.
But guess what, insurance companies exist because people sometimes fault. For example, even the best driver can sometime hit another car and then insurance comes handy.

as long as you admit to fitting the rest of the statement.
I have to. As I said earlier, most crime happen because of some lapse on victim's (or some one other then the criminal) side. For example, a plane is hijacked because some security person was not smart enough.
And yes, I have to agree that for those few minutes I was not smart enough.
Good that I am able to convince you ... finally
