What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Wa

If you have the 1st, 3rd and 5th weekend schedule, how do you handle holidays that fall on the other parent's weekend? If you have this schedule and your holiday falls on the 2nd weekend does the other parent get the 3rd and 4th weekend? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Normally holidays supercede the regular schedule. So the parent would get an EXTRA weekend.

Just for clarification because I was confused for a nanosecond when I read the response...

If a Holiday supercedes a weekend, it REPLACES the weekend. So if the CP normally has the 2nd weekend of the month, but THAT weekend happens to be NCP's HOLIDAY in a given year, then the NCP gets the holiday and the CP loses the weekend -- it is not generally made up.

That can, of course, vary by state or if addressed differently in the court order.

I get it - thanks. the cp looses a weekend, but the next year it would balance out if the holidays are divided 50/50 - right?
Right - basically it all balances out *over time*.
Some orders have specific language to prevent 3 weekends in a row sorta thing. You'd have to look at all sections of the holiday and weekend language to determine if any other provisions apply in your case.

OP has such language. This scenario has been discussed in previous threads of hers.
