**A: and what is your involvement in this and why are you asking? If a 21-22 year old is telling people that he had sex with a minor when he really did not, could he get into legal trouble if legal action was taken against him? both the adult and minor live in washington state.
That's good.ok first of all, i want whoever replies to this next to know that im still a virgin. he is making up rumors about me. i would like to do something about it, can anyone tell me my options?
That's good.
Your options are pretty limited at the moment. A nasty letter from an attorney might do the trick. But, it might work if one of these people called the cops and he got a visit from them. It might be embarrassing to you if the cops started sniffing around, but it might scare him enough to quit bragging about a crime.
It is not technically a police issue as spreading lies is not usually criminal. But they might talk to the guy if you and your parents ask him to. But, as I said, they might ask some questions about you that could be embarrassing.i just got proof in writing. can i take "real" action now?
They should be able to tell him to stop calling you and if it continues it could be a criminal act. Whether or not making a call to someone and pretending to be them is a crime in your state, I do not know. In my state it would generally not be a crime absent some additional motivation and/or actions.ok and my last question is can they do anything about him making harassment calls to me and pretending to be me and 3 other people? im guessing that would be impersonation, but im not really sure.
