kick out a tenant

We are less than a 30 days in the house as tenants. I want to kick out one of the tenants (she is not on the lease, but I am).
What do I need to do legally if she is refusing to leave? Call the police? Take her out by force? I am really don't want problems with the law

This is my mother in law. She does not paying rent to anybody, there is no agreement between us. She just moved in to "help her child with the baby" with my verbal "yes".

This woman appears to be a pain in the ass, very aggressive and annoying person. I can not go in the house without shirt, she is always asking for money, teaching how to live and so. You know, MIL from hell.
And yes, she gut on my last nerve when she said that she is the boss in the house. In my country you just take her and kick her out, but now in the USA I want to obey local laws as a good moral attitude resident.

Alex if she has not been there a month she still might argue that she is a tenant , hard to say. it comes to this , are you willing to risk her claiming she has a tenancy and attempting to sue you for illegal eviction if you just change the locks and throw her out ? But worse is your wife going to let her back in. If your wife might let her back in then perhaps its time to put your foot down and tell your wife she has to make a choice either her mom goes or you will.

I am not going to do anything that will put me in criminal or civilian court.
I think i will leave my self and tell my wife that I will came back only if this mean MIL will leave. It will be a nice test to my wife and to our relationship.
