What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NJ

I have a question about nuisance barking laws. Our downstairs neighbor has a dog now (not sure if she is dog sitting or she bought it) but it has been annoying with constant barking. Anyway this morning it woke us up at 7am howling and is still going. Since we don't have a good relationship with her (my last post about too much noise I told you that she complained to the LL never to me that my kids were making too much noise) so not sure how to handle it or if there are even laws about it. Any info/advice?

Your city should have ordinances about the time frame of dogs barking. Check it out and the next time, call the police to enforce the ordinance. Have to do it at the time, not an hour from than.

But if this is to get even with her, you know that is wrong, so do what's right.

Thanks! and No not to get back at her but to have some peace. It was barking till 12am then woke us up at 6am until 9am!!!

Now if the dog is alone when the barking is going on does that mean the owner/sitter is not responsible to keep it quiet? I didn't find anything specifically about barking but the quiet enjoyment rule would apply right?

Doesn't matter whose with the dog at the time...but has to be within what the city ordinances says, not your time.
No, quiet enjoyment rule does not apply, that's why you didn't find anything...it's like telling LL that the airplane made to much noise going over the house
