So sorry I don't know what happened to the first post?! I am from Illinois Kendall county. Single mom 4 children ages 10, 9, 6 and 4. Three boys and my daughter being the youngest. The 2 oldest boys haveADHD and learning disabilities. One of them also has mood disorder and PTSD. They have bee causing problems in the community that we live in (3 yrs) and now they want to haul them and myself in court in front of a judge and are trying to make them wards of the state?! I am angered because I have asked numeroustimes throughout these years for the police to help me with my children because I don't want the to be state prisioners one day. Now they are in court with mulitple charges from things that I was not even aware of?! Help/... They are just starting some intense couseling and one of my children has just been released from a behavioral hospital and are recieveing great services I can see them turning around now so why so late?

Help me understand. You've been asking for help and intervention and now that you are going to get it you're ticked off? If your children are misbehaving to the point that you cannot or will not control them, someone else does.

The only thing you can do is make sure you and your children have representation when you go to court.

First, because it isnt the job of the police department to parent YOUR children...its yours. Second, were your children getting counseling in the beginning or are they just starting counseling now??

Help me understand. You've been asking for help and intervention and now that you are going to get it you're ticked off? If your children are misbehaving to the point that you cannot or will not control them, someone else does.

The only thing you can do is make sure you and your children have representation when you go to court.

You and your kids need an attorney. This situation is well beyond your league. No "if, ands, or buts" about it. If you cant afford one, tell the judge you need one and cant afford one.

first for all of you"crazies", My children have been in doctor's care sine2003 and are on medications of all sorts. Couseling is just what it is and I am a very good parent they see their psyc monthly and if I don't get the police help then I will just take your state dollars and let them incarcerate them (yeah right) I love my children and I am asking for real help not pay for a juvenille officer at the local pd and not get his service or intervention at all?! That is his job; and yes I thought if they would "scare" my kds a little while they are young that they wouldn't becom a statistic that is all.

I don't know. I tend to scare my own children just fine.

I agree. You know when I was growing up a parent could whip your butt and actually punish you. In the last 20 years or so they have gradually taken the right to punish your children away from you. Coincidently this is about the same time that doctors started diagnosing kids with adhd and other illnesses and put them on medications to control it.

Most of these kids just need a good kick in the pants.

another thing

this is why we have this overcrowding of the prisions. Children should be on court supervision the 1st time they do something not the 150th or what ever it might be because all it does is teach them that someone care's other than my mom if I misbehave and not let them go out and steal and bring them home to me. As a juvinille that shows them that if they do something they are going to be brought home by the cops and that is all as they grow older the same habits grow and now become more intense and now you want to lock them up or take them away from me?! If you could stop them before they turn 18 you'd see less children in the prision system and save our tax dollars. Like probation some kids need it (mine) that would let them know that hey they are not playing with me I gotta straighten up. I have talked till my face has turned blue about this and it hurts so bad. They are my kids and dad doesn't have a damn thing to do with that he bailed a long time ago.

I dunno.... I have no problems whipping a butt or two.

I don't need anyone else to raise my children. I'll do it myself - and contrary to popular belief. The courts don't care about your kids the way you think they might (or would like them to). They're a case number and a problem. There are too many of them to care.

By the way I didn't want to ay it but DCFS is already involved trying to alledge neglect charges on me about the children. I also am only 37 years old and I also remember in school as well as at home my parent (grandma) had to sign papers at the school allowing or not allowing the principle to give me "swats" on the reae end if I had misbehaved at school; and that was the Elementary school! (LOL) now today it is taught in school that if your parent "whips" you let us know and all that "other" stuff! My how fast does [/B]things change. Believe me if this was back in my day you wouldn't see so many disrespectful children and agressive tempers (kickin my wall punching holes in things around the house" (ect) my grandma use to make me go outside and get my own switch off of tree to whip my own ass.
