What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CT

My wife had an affair about a year ago, and in the past few months she became verbally abusive to me on a daily basis (I've never laid a hand on her and have never even yelled at her). I bought a voice-activated recorded and recorded in hopes I'd have something to defend myself with in the event she makes allegations against me in divorce court. I have since learned that those conversations are not admissible in court anyway so I stopped. However, I am worried just recording her with only one parties consent is illegal, is that the case?

You cannot record audio of your wife (we're not talking about telephone, correct?) without her consent; she does have an expectation of privacy in her own home.

Hidden audio recording is illegal in CT.

For a telephone conversation, both parties must consent in CT. I'm not sure about a live conversation.

According to (ahem, it's a commercial site but it was the quickest google thingy I could find at short notice) http://nannycamdirect.com/, hidden audio recording is illegal in CT

:)
