I have an old Metropolitan Life policy (Warwick, RI) that I have discovered has lapsed. Metropolitan did not contact me to alert me that this policy would lapse and I would like to know if there is a legal obligation of an insurance company to notify policy holders of any impending lapsing of policies. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
