What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan

If stopped on the street is it necessary for one to show/carry id as a minor? I know Breathalyzers are not mandatory but is id?

Better idea - stop drinking as a minor.

BTW, not carrying ID may not do you any good. You may be required to prove that you're 21 if you're stopped with alcohol.

Michigan does not have a stop and identify statute so you are more than welcome to not tell the officer who you are.

Now, if you have committed any crime, or even if the officer has reasonable suspicion to believe you have, including an infraction, he can take you to the pokey and keep you until you give up your name, they identify you through other means, or the courts let you out, or you die.
