What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? OR

Is anyone here familiar with the process for filing to change custody? My attorney is filing everything hopefully next week and then I know the next step is to serve the custodial parent. If she has 30 days to respond what happens when she does? What is the usual timeline of things? Thanks!

Your attorney can gauge the timeline for you.

We can't do that - it can vary tremendously by county.

If you can't get ahold of your attorney - consider getting a different attorney.

And be patient - these things don't happen overnight.
