What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? FL

To start, I am trying to help a friend out in FL. In July of this year, he was arrested in NY for DUI. The arresting office screwed up and he was charged with a misdameanor which he pleaded guilty to on advise of a legal professional. End result was 7 days in jail he served while waiting to bail out and $1000 court cost/fine and time served. NO probation and license in NY suspended for 6 months. However he has a Fl license and the state told him it is suspended for 1 yr over DUI conviction.

IS this correct? He does not want to have problems with law. Right now he is not driving, but was hoping to after his 6 months is up. He pleaded guilty at trial in August. SO was planning to be able to drive in Feb.

yes, this is correct. there is a two absolutely different charges, one - criminal, and one - administrative via DMV. and DMV has their very own rules.
