Eligible for license reinstatement with IID, but need to move.

I was arrested for OUI in March of 2009 in Massachusetts (no injury or accident, yes speeding).

Case was plead on March of 2010.

I received a 45 day license suspension along with an alcohol driver education program which have both been completed.

My license was eligible for reinstatement in April of 2010 but will require an IID for reinstatement.

I have not reinstated my license as I have not had the need nor the $500 reinstatement fee + $400 for the interlock device + the $70/mo maintenence fee + the money to transfer the registration of three of the four vehicles to my wife as Massachusetts requires an interlock on every vehicle you OWN, not drive.

I now need to permanently move to Vermont for my job and will need a license there.

I will obviously need to reinstate my license in Massachusetts at this point.

Question 1: How long can I drive and live in Vermont with a Massachusetts license?

Question 2: Will Vermont impose or be aware of an IID restriction on my license when I am converting my Massachusetts license?

Question 3: If I end up receiving a Vermont license will I be legal to drive in Massachusetts?

1) You must obtain a Vermont Operator’s License if you reside in Vermont and intend to make the state your principal place of domicile either permanently or for an indefinite number of years. This excludes persons who live in the state for a particular purpose involving a defined period of time, including students, migrant workers employed in seasonal occupations and persons employed under a contract with a fixed term.

So with regards to answer 2, Vermont will basically place an IID restriction on my Vermont license? I just didn't know they could handle that yet and was wondering if they would just deny me completely as they have no IID program yet.

How woulld I have the IID unit inspected and maintained in Vermont?

actually you will be probably free to drive in Vermont with "no alcohol" restriction and with proof of Alcohol Abuse program completion from Massachusetts.

but you need to ask Vermont DMV if they accept your out-of-state Alcohol Abuse program.

Realize that to get a license in Vermont (whether now or in X years) you will first have to get your license re instated in Ma.

I don't think Vermont restricts licenses with ILD yet, but be aware that they might before long and you probably want to beat that time.
If I'm right; to get a valid license in Vermont you will need a valid license from the State you are coming from.
You may be able to get your vehicles reg in Vermont 1st, get your Ma re instament taken care of then get your VT license.

Or I could be wrong.

Its close to New Hampshire, I wonder if it would be easier to move there
