=quincy;2723238]As a note, "Even a broken clock is right twice a day" is an idiomatic expression and does not require attribution.
and it is just plain incorrect anyway. When my LED digital clock broke, it was never right because the display didn't work at all.

I think it's very funny that willyjo thinks I was trying to claim an idiomatic phrase as my own. Evidently he's not as well read as he thinks. Where did I claim it was original, willy?

And it's news to me that I'm constantly being told off at EL. When did this happen and how did I happen to miss it?

Hmmm....you obivously liked the "idiomatic phrase" enough to include it as part of your post. Anyone who has never heard the phrase might give you credit for saying it in this post. It IS a clever phrase and that is why you used it. But please give credit where credit is due. Don't mislead any readers into believing you are the author of such a clever phrase.

As far as being well-read, I am exactly as well-read as I think!! Only I am capable of knowing how much research, reading and experience I have! Therefore, based on my education, experience, reading and research, I claim I am well-read to a point that nobody can dispute it.

Well-read is well-read! It would be purely a theory to try to dispute the fact I'm well-read because there is a level of ambiguity that cannot prove or disprove whether I'm well-read or not! So CBG...what is your theory on my not being as well-read as I think I am--it would be very entertaining to hear!

And as far as you getting told off all the time over at the other forum, I never told you that so why are you whining to me about it? I do believe however, that based on your posting history, you probably DO get told off quite a bit over at the other legal forum.

So tell me, Willy. Who is the author of this phrase that's in common use? The one you are so afraid I will be taking credit from?

It never even crossed my mind that someone might think I was the original author of such a well-used phrase. So you tell me, who DID originate it? I'll be sure to give that person full credit.

You see, if you really were so well read, you would know that it is SUCH a common phrase that no one would think I was the author.

And with the rest, I was talking to BOR, not you. And I wasn't whining, I was laughing at him.

I commend you for being a "thinker" justalayman! I sincerely believe you could dispute ANYTHING to a point of "believability". Good job!

I do not know who is the author of the clever phrase. But if I used it in my post, I would give credit to an anonymous source.

The phrase is reasonably common but I've only heard it like 3 times in the last couple years and I get around quite a bit. So it is uncommon enough for someone to use it with the intention of misleading others into believing they are the author.

I'm not saying you intentionally are misleading--I'm just saying that it could be interpreted that way by anyone who is aware of that "reasonably common" phrase.

It would appear that certain posters believe "Writing Drivel To Increase Your Post Count" is an Olympic Sport. Hence such dedication to the practice.

Oh, hi, Willly!

Oh, hi, Willly!
The thought of increasing my post count never crossed my mind at all! You are the only one in this entire forum that has mentioned such a thing as increasing one's post count.

If I am increasing my post count at all (and I am), its because of responding to ignorant bantering by you and other Senior Members that like to troll my posts. But keep it up, I love responding and I love it when you do legitimately point out something I wasn't aware of because that DOES help me be a better person.

You see, I am not a fake, my words show my compassion for helping Ops who come here really looking for help instead of putdowns and/or joking around about their circumstances (which is very cruel). On the other hand, it is more important for someone like you to come out of the woodwork and jump on the bandwagon in an effort to put your two cents worth in concerning what I post.

Your ignorance showed in you posts concerning the poor woman who now seems to have a case against the neurologist and it is still evident here as are some of the others. In all fairness, I must give you some credit. You are the only Senior Member that has spelled Willlyjo correct. I thank you!

Okay, willy. Then sue me for not attributing the phrase correctly. Do you have ANY idea how much of an ass you are making of yourself?

cbg out.

Just thinking outside of the box. I spent so many years in there, I get shivers when I think about being put back in the box. It was always dark and when it was hot outside, it was really hot in the box. When it was cold outside, it was really cold in the box. Using "the box" for punishment is inhumane and should be outlawed.

and I spell Willyjo correctly (proper word. correct is incorrect). You just get upset when I call you willy. I never claimed that to be your name.
