Hi, im new here but I got cited for going over the limit in a 35mph going 45mph. Then for Expired license which i din't now it had expired 1 week prior to ticket. my questions are:

Why is it marked as a misdemeanor for VC12500?

VC12500 can i still corrected i got my license that next week?

how much do a vc12500 fine cost?

CVC 12500(a) is a misdemeanor but is likely to be filed with the court as an infraction. It is also correctable in most instances. If the officer did not check the box on the cite indicating it as correctable, the court may permit it.

So, get the license corrected and then bring it with you to court.

As for the speed violation, there are a number of ways to try and fight it but it will take a lot of work and time on your part to seek information through discovery and do some research. Others here can give you some better info on that or you can do a search here.

The speeding its a dam highway that passes through a small town at the entrance it said slow down speed limit 45 but i never saw the other sign saying 35mph. Dam town wasn't even a mile long by the time i was out.

The judge can make it correctable if he or she wishes. They may not, however.

A judge ought to show leniency on that, but they may not.

There are ways to fight a 22350 citation, but they will take time and effort. Search for the info here or online. Other posters may jump in to give you more details on that process.

She corrected my VC12500 my fine for that is $25

but for the VC22350 its $283

I thought Speeding 1-15mph over is $18*

I know I wasn't going over 15 more

The fine represents about 15% of the total. The base fine is actually likely to be about $35, but when you tack on fees and assessments it goes a lot higher. if you want to settle the matter and plead guilty, you might consider traffic school.

If you want to fight the citation, be prepared to appear once or twice, and be ready to file for discovery requests, learn about speed surveys and the legal definition of a "speed trap" and understand that if you go to trial traffic school may not be an option afterwards.

It can be a lot to consider.

Ohhh Yeah im going to plea guilty but only thing is that it seems like they are probably charging me for going over 16-25 mph over.

Im going to call the court house tomorrow because on the ticket it says speed limit 35mph i was going 45mph.

The recommended base fine in the 2011 California fine and fee schedule indicates that 1-15 MPH over for 22350 would be $35, and a total of about $233 all told. Some counties charge more.

You can always call and ask for the breakdown of the fines and fees, but it may not be based on the wrong speed especially if it is clearly indicated.
