How to file a civil law suite without a lawyer?

I was hit by a truck and he run away on I-5 towards Lakewood...his insurance company offered a settlement amount but am not accepting it...and I want to know how can I sue the driver and I want to get $25000 for settlement.....how can I sue on my own without a lawyer because lawyers want 33% of total which is too much..please advice how can I file a civil lawsuit on my own? I am located in Lakewood WA( Pierce county)

If you dont know how to file a civil suit then how can you expect to win and litigate, perform discovery, handle a trial?

If you are expecting an out of court settlement you will likely find that they will not settle.

Other than that, I suggest you get a copy of the court rules & begin reading.

on top of your lack of knowledge of the law, the defendant is going to have a lawyer to represent him paid for by his insurance company.

but, to sue a person, you write a complaint with your claims and file it with the court and serve it on the defendant. With the amount of money you are looking for, it is beyond small claims so you will be expected to follow the rules of the court quite closely. While not impossible, it isn't a walk in the park either. If you screw up you can bet the other side will take advantage of it.
