Ya know I pay child support and I know for a fact my ex spends the money mainly on herself, It would be nice if they would come up with a way to make it to where they could only spend money on certain things or at certain stores.
Just like your only allowed to buy food with ebt cards..

Child support is a REIMBURSEMENT to the CUSTODIAL parent for the expenses that have ALREADY been spent on the child.
Translated: I already spent the money on my child; now that I am being reimbursed, I can use the money for something for me since I put my child FIRST.

Uh hmmmm, I spend $100 plus a week at the grocery store, my house payment is $700, my car is $400, utilities $300+, sports for the kids, clothes, car insurance, gas to school and events yadda yadda. I know it was your opinion but ummmm $421 doesn't begin to cover even half of all that. and the one paying wants to control how?
I have 2 kids, 1 preteen 1 teenager, if we were still married do you think he would only be giving me $421 a month for the kids? No we would not have 2 households, but at the same time we would BOTH be spending half on them.
Take my bills, they are $3000, and I am not adding in yearly bills like taxes, then divide that by 2/3, that's $2000 assesed to raising the kids that WE made TOGETHER, not "I made them alone so I am responsible for everything" But suddenly when couples get divorced the NCP be it mom or dad seems to think the CP made the kids alone.
Just some food for thought.
How is it reimbursement if you just split up?
I paid since the day we split so I don't really see how that would be.
But I do understand where your coming from, you can't say 100% of single mothers spend all the cs money on their child.

If Mommabear wants to buy a Coach purse with your child support, she's ABSOLUTELY entitled to do that.
If she wants to take out her new boy-toy out to dinner every week at a fancy eatery....she's absolutely entitled to do THAT too.
In fact, if she wants to use YOUR child support to house HIM in his own little condo on the beach...she's entitled to do that.
As long as those kids are fed, housed, clothed - it's out of your control.
Why is that so small?
I pay around $500 a month for 1 child.
I also take him every other weekend and half the summer with rotating holidays.
