Shoplifting Charges, I NEED HELP!

I was caught shop lifting in a target in Arizona. I pocketed two items worth a total of $30 and upon exiting the store, was stopped by an LP outside of the doors. I handed over the items and when he tried to escort me back inside, i fled. The next day I was arrested. I am seventeen years old and this is my first offense for anything. Is there anyway I can defend myself or request a diversion without an attorney? I do not want this to go on my record because I am so young. Thank you.

You can request it, but I would advise against it. The small amount of money you'll pay an attorney is money well-spent in a case like this.
